My story with abstract painting on mugs and how it all began.

I am a mixed medium artist creating abstract painting using alcohol inks and gold as metallic paint.

I enjoy making art that tries to capture the magical movement of the waves and the ocean, which is a my most favourite place to be.

My art work on mugs is unique, each of them is hand-painted individually. Although they can look similar in design and colour, there are no identical pieces.

The mugs and cups I use as a base are made from glossy white porcelain and I use a variation of colours to paint on them, specially different shades of blue with metallic gold.

They are available in a variety of sizes: espresso, regular and large, depending on how you like to drink your favourite hot beverage!

I am passionate about my art work and take immense pleasure in producing high quality work for you to enjoy in your own home. All cups and mugs are food safe but as usual, due to the metallic paint, they cannot be washed in a dishwasher.

… How it all started

During the pandemic in March 2020 whilst in lock down in London, I rediscovered my love for art and in particular working with watercolour.

My day to day work is caring for the elderly, and although rewarding it can be emotional and at times very tiring.

Although the pandemic was a devastating time we all had to endure, it allowed me the time to return to art and brought something wonderful back in to my life, and I’m so grateful for that. The passion for drawings and paintings that were lost in my childhood re emerged for me!

Since I more recently found the world of abstract painting with inks and the art of painting on mugs I have really fallen in love with it. The best part is the process. It is very therapeutic and the end result is always a unique and beautiful surprise as I never know exactly how a painting will turn out.

It’s the perfect combination for me to combine two joys in my life, art and coffee!

As many coffee or tea lovers do, I  like to choose my cup depending on my mood. I do think it’s true what they say about life, that it is all about finding moments of pleasure in the simple pleasures, and choosing a cup from my cupboard gives me a happy feeling.

It gives me a feeling of great content,  to be able to create a special piece of artwork knowing that it will be used by my customers every day, hopefully continually sparking a little joy!

Thank you for being here and being part of my journey as an artist.
